What better way to celebrate my birthday than heading out for a long run. Well, it also helps that the Chilterns 50k is but a few weeks away and I need to up my mileage if I want to stand a chance of finishing in one piece.

I started at Newlands Corner right on the North Downs Way, following the trail down to the Wey River just South of Guidlford. From there, it was a flat-as-a-pancake run along the towpath to Old Woking – well, with some wee hills at Hoebridge golf course right at the end there.

16.8 miles, 9:24 min/mile – no niggles. Hooray!

Couldn’t resist taking an action selfie in the woods. Still my favourite use for the Apple Watch.
